With November Comes Movember!

It’s that time again where not shaving is the thing to do…

Two men enter a bar... and thought of a plan that changed the month of November forever. Since then, November or “Movember” has been all about a positive initiative of men growing moustaches, and “Mo” in “Movember” comes from “moustache”. Learn more about how it all started here.

It’s been going on for a good 16 years with a pretty cool tagline, “grow a ‘mo, save a bro” to bring light to men’s health issues like mental health & suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

So how does one participate in Movember?

1. Well, for starters, guys: Grow a “Mo”:
Get your friends and family to join. And if anyone asks if it’s a new look you’re after, use it as an opportunity to talk about men’s health and maybe even start a fund based on how long you can stop shaving for the entire month.

2. You don’t have to be a dude to take part in Movember. Try this:
Move for Movember! Run or walk 60km over the entire month of November, which symbolises the 60 men lost to suicide every hour across the world.

3. Host a Mo-ment and Spread Mo’ Love:
Invite a few friends to do something fun and easy on your social media platform to spread the word and maybe even go viral to get others involved.

4. Donate:
You can always contribute to the cause by donating to the Movember Foundation or any cancer organisations and mental health and suicide prevention centres.
