Whacky diets of some of the world’s most successful people!
A common trait of many successful people is the existence of a routine and in a lot of cases, eccentricities.
Da Vinci only took short naps every 24 hours. Lewis Carroll did a lot of his writing while standing up. Thibaut Courtois takes a selfie in the bathroom and sends it to four of his friends in Belgium before every match.
Wait. What?
Then there are these other successful people with weird eating habits…
Warren Buffet
The fourth richest man in the world will be celebrating his 90th birthday in August but instead of a feast, the entrepreneur admits to eating like a 6 year old. McDonald’s is his usual go-to breakfast (ordering a different menu item depending on the condition of the stock market) while occasionally starting the day with a bowl of ice cream. He’s known to chug down five cans of Coke a day and binges on lots of Utz potato sticks. Despite living to 90 with such a diet, we don’t recommend following it!
Steve Jobs
The former CEO and co-founder of Apple would usually go long periods eating only one or two types of food like fruits. Sometimes, he would even be an all-out fruitarian or fast for long periods. He reportedly ate carrots for weeks on end which turned his skin orange.
Mark Zuckerberg
The Facebook founder’s eccentric diet only lasted a year in 2011. The then 27-year-old embarked on a strange mission of only eating animals that he killed himself. Yes, that’s right, in 2011, Mark was a hunter.
Novak Djokovic
The tennis star known as the Djoker doesn’t have the most eccentric diet on the list. He won the 2019 Wimbledon while on a plant-based diet but the tennis star doesn’t like to be known as a vegan (despite being a vegan). He once dropped to his knees after beating ace Rafael Nadal and ate the grass on the court.
Andy Warhol
Similar to Warren Buffet, one of the pioneers of modern art was a sweet tooth. In the book What the Great Ate, authors Mark and Matthew Jacob reported that when a customs officer scampered through Warhol’s bag, it was filled with candy, chewing gum and cookies. He would abstain from eating meals saying “Oh, I only eat candy.” The artist also talked about cooking meat but not even eating it, saying "I'm only kidding myself when I go through the motions of cooking protein…all I ever really want is sugar.” His collection of cookies jars sold for $250,000 after his death.
