Creating Community at the Workplace

For TDCX, it’s not just about work and performance; it’s also about creating an all-inclusive work culture for everyone to thrive creatively and as a community. Here’s what you can expect.

#BeMore. That pretty much sums up the work culture that TDCX cultivates. Two simple words and yet they mean so much as they inspire employees to #BeMore in many different aspects. Essentially, it is about helping employees to grow, learn more, have more fun and work, and ultimately be better rewarded with an enriching work experience.

Experience is the one thing that truly leads the work culture at TDCX. We focus on Employee Experience—Create Conditions to Attract and Retain Employees as one of our company objectives. The setup of the objectives necessitates the development of an in-house measuring tool. It allows us to measure a talent’s onboarding experience, employee experience, engagement, and retention. Think of it as an end-to-end life cycle that transitions one’s experience from a candidate into an employee at TDCX. From workshops, coaching, and mentoring to job rotation, TDCX employees are developed to stay ahead of the competition and also promote life-long learning. At the same time, TDCX campuses are also designed to foster collaboration, creativity, and teamwork among employees.

Fresh graduates who join TDCX will be glad to know that the company has several initiatives in place to help them grow and learn. One of these is the Career Development Plan (CDP) which is to be developed by the employee themself with their supervisor. It is like your customized route to success, an action plan that fits your individual needs, abilities, knowledge, skills, competencies, and interests. The same plan is also mapped to the Leadership Competency with regular assessments measuring your competency based on current and future roles.

Other initiatives fresh graduates can benefit from including the Mentoring Program targeted at developing talent in a high-performing work culture that encourages the transfer of knowledge and skills from mentor to mentee, and the Succession Planning to ensure qualified and motivated talent can take over leadership roles when the opportunity arises.

There is also the Coaching Program that uses TDCX’s Flash Coach system to document and monitor coaches and candidates using data processed by the company’s artificial intelligence so the company can clearly and systematically determine developmental priorities and help employees meet their personal and career goals. Learning and development programs for employees to achieve up to 119 learning hours through the TDCX Flash Learn and LinkedIn Learning, e-learning programs that employees can do it anytime anywhere; and a unique program which is also known as ‘Walk a Mile in Another’s Shoes’ that allows employees to expand on-the-job skills development opportunities, boost employee-manager engagement, support business needs and work demands by resource leveraging and collaboration within the entire organization.

What you also need to know is that TDCX is a company that is not solely focused on business results and numbers. Sure, it is essential but what is also important is to inspire its talents to be conscious of the local communities. It is akin to creating a sense of responsibility in those working in TDCX, to give back to the community and understand how their actions could impact the lives of others.

This is why the company has allocated resources to developing initiatives that foster a sense of community. Here are some of the initiatives TDCX has in place that you can be a part of:

#BeKinder - Uplift Communities
TDCX aims to create a positive social impact by giving back to the community. We do this via the pursuing of educational development, promoting inclusive economic growth, supporting healthcare workers, providing disaster relief, partnering with NGOs, responsible sourcing, and many social-facing programs.

For example, TDCX has invested in education to create a life-enhancing impact on the lives of learners across the globe. With the help of partner organizations, TDCX donates not just funds but also time and skills to support and better equip students in public institutions. It also supports local communities with a focus on developing skills, promoting entrepreneurship, and providing digital empowerment to those most in need.

TDCX’s global program called 4F or Friday Food for Frontliners aims to provide nutritious meals in support of healthcare workers as our way of appreciation to the group of people who have sacrificed a lot in light of the pandemic while the TDCX Disaster Relief Program makes the conveyance and distribution of relief supplies faster and more effective than ever to affected communities.

#BeGreener - Promote Sustainability
TDCX understands the importance of promoting sustainability, and there are several ways we do this. First, offsetting its carbon emission by investing in environmentally responsible business practices. Then there is also water conservation which TDCX promotes through internal policies and strategies. Recycling is also actively practiced in all TDCX’s offices using centralized recycling bins, modern recycling methods, and creative upcycling techniques to reduce office waste. We have also banned single-use plastic across offices and support sustainable merchandise as part of its commitment to eliminate waste in its workplaces!
