We took networking to the virtual space and here’s what happened

What went down at our first virtual networking session.

Last Tuesday 25 May marked the return of Malaysia’s Premier Networking Fair, The Aspire+ Networking Series. Even with the pandemic, we still attracted over 400 talent across the world eager to network and participate in intellectual conversations about Malaysia’s dynamic and ever evolving job market.

The theme for the day was ‘The Innovative World of Data Science and AI’. Our talent were in for an insightful, eye-opening discussion that was held later that evening with an expert panel leading the conversation.

Here’s what happened:

NETWORKING ALL DAY
Since 2020, GRADUAN developed an online platform that hosts career initiatives and on 25 May, we were proud to continue hosting this online initiative on our very own platform, giving organisations the ability to chat with talent in the public chatbox, host meeting rooms for small, insightful discussions and even conduct one-on-one video interviews!

Over 400 high-performing Malaysian talent around the world registered on GRADUAN.com to grab this golden opportunity to meet, network, and pick the brains of industry leaders, organisational representatives and subject experts such as The Center of Applied Data Science (CADS), Deloitte, Experian Malaysia, Maybank and Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME).

EXPERTS SHARE THEIR TAKE
On top of that, GRADUAN hosted a live panel featuring five subject matter experts from tech giants on the topic of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence to give our viewers a better understanding into the topic, how it’s changing the recruitment landscape, and how we can be part of it.

Chen Fong Tuan of SME, Sabrina Zuraimi of Yahoo! Japan, Chua Chai Ping of Experian Malaysia, Sharala Axryd of CADS, and Dr. Shameem Farouk of Maybank were speakers on this exciting panel moderated by GRADUAN’s very own Nada Marie. We received over 800 views across three platforms namely GRADUAN.com, YouTube and Facebook!

The panel shared insight on the current use of Data Science and AI in Corporate Malaysia while also shedding light on the future of AI in the country, how it’s used in our daily lives, and even jokingly discussed if AI will take over the world.

You can still watch the forum here in case you missed it. You can also read up on their thoughts and opinions about Skills Needed for The Future Workplace here!

There will be more forums and webinars happening only at The GRADUAN Aspire Virtual Fair this 9 to 11 July. Registrations are open now here.
