Meet the lucky ones who found their dream job at previous Australia Career Fairs. Plus, learn how you too can bag that job next!
For 15 years, GRADUAN® has been organising the Australia Career Fair to link up Malaysian talent in Australia with some of the best organisations back home. This year, the fair is scheduled for 5 and 6 October 2019 at the Crown Conference Centre in Melbourne, and we have an exciting line-up of employers who will be there.
If you need a reason why you should attend – we’ve had many students who end up being hired after impressing recruiters at the fair and they’ve gone on to achieve many great things. Here’s what they have to say about how the fair helped them do so.
Ashman Amirudin, Curtin University
“If I hadn’t gone to the Australia Career Fair, I wouldn’t be who I am today. Flying from Perth to Melbourne to get a job in Malaysia is a success story that should be shared with students in Australia. I started my career with Prudential and currently, I’m an Analyst in Shell overseeing Australian Projects. Thank you #teamGRADUAN!”
Astley Benedict Tay, RMIT
“Students should attend the Australia Career Fair because of the endless opportunities. Not only did I get the chance to network with my future employers I also gained a lot of knowledge about the Malaysian job market and first-hand insight on the working life. Regardless of your degree, there are opportunities for you to get hired or land an internship – you really don’t want to miss it! I studied Media but I was offered a job by EY, one of the biggest professional services firms in Malaysia.”
Esther Cheok, University of Melbourne
“I attended the fair in 2018 as a second-year student and got an internship with PwC! It’s a great opportunity because when you apply for jobs, sometimes you have to go online and go through the whole application process which takes like an hour but at the career fair, you just go up to employers, speak to them and hand them your resume which is something very easy. I also feel that it’s much easier to get a job this way because you are directly networking with company representatives instead of just applying online.”
