A Mother’s Day Tribute ?

Cherishing the little things.

Life gets a bit too grand sometimes, amidst the milestones and achievements we’ve paved for ourselves. What we don’t notice is the person picking up all the pieces we leave behind. And for some reason, as we grow older, we tend to overlook this person. It’s easy to get swept up in the whirlwind of responsibilities and distractions, but this special person deserves a special day (make it every day!) where we pause and reflect on the countless small gestures of love and care that they’ve bestowed upon us - that’s right, here’s to all mothers this Mother’s Day!

From the moment we took our first breath, our mothers instantly took on the role of a nurturer with unwavering devotion. The moment they laid eyes on us, it was true love at first sight. Every baby step was an achievement she was proud of. A small scratch tended with care, all tears wiped. These seemingly insignificant acts of love and care are the memories that will linger in our minds even after childhood fades into the background.

Remember the aroma of a dish you’ve always loved every time you come home from school? Prepared with love by her hands. Or the way she would say goodnight and lovingly tucked us in? These small rituals were not just mundane tasks but tokens of affection, imbued with the warmth of a mother's love.

As we grew older, our mothers remained steadfast pillars of support, offering great advice and unconditional encouragement. They celebrated our victories, and offered a safe space during moments of defeat. Behind every achievement, every milestone, there was a mother quietly cheering us on, her pride evident in the light of her eyes and the curve of her smile.

Yet, amidst the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to take these gestures for granted. We become preoccupied with our own pursuits, overlooking the countless sacrifices our mothers made on our behalf. The late nights spent preparing our things for school the next day, the early mornings spent cooking our breakfasts, the selfless acts of putting our needs before their own—the list is endless.

As we reflect on Mother's Day, let us not only celebrate the grand gestures but also cherish the little things. Every scraped knee kissed, every lullaby sung, every sacrifice made, every tear wiped away - our mothers deserve more than just a day of recognition - they deserve a lifetime of gratitude!

Happy Mother's Day to all the remarkable mothers out there, whose love knows no bounds and whose legacy endures through the generations. This one's for you my first love, my mama.
