What is the opportunity?

CACEIS was set up in Cyberjaya, Malaysia in July 2023 with approximately 1,000 employees, with the acquisition of RBC investor Services’ European business and Malaysia centre of excellence, delivering operational excellence.

As a centre of excellence, the team in Malaysia provides asset services, custody and payments for clients in Europe (Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Switzerland and United Kingdom) with a global operating model that maximises efficiencies across time zones, supports 17/5 operational capability with follow the sun model, enhances scalability of our global operations and the implementation of standardized processes.

As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following:

  • To maintain all EUCs (End User Computing) macros for the Hong Kong Operations team in Malaysia, and ensure compliance with company standards in terms of risk control.
  • To quickly identify issues with EUCs when raised by the business lines, and to implement effective solutions immediately.
  • Ensure our clients’ transactions on listed derivatives, and equity swap are proceed into our operational systems within the agreed cut-off
  • Perform the matching of our clients’ transactions against the counterparty (Clearing and Prime brokers) and manage the resolution of difference
  • Control the accuracy of pricing data inputs including (floating rate fixings, credit spread, forward inflation level, options premium) and proceed the contribution into our valuation platform.
  • Perform the valuation of OTC Derivatives products (Swaps, Options).
  • Ensure internal and external enquiries are managed on time and with high quality standard.
  • Accountable for Global Servicing from operating location (includes shifts and work on bank / legal holidays and weekend when required).
  • Maintain statistics up to date (including daily team checklist update).
  • Maintain organizational relationship with Management line.
  • Ensure effective resolution of enquiries.
  • Assistance in monitoring team's activity to ensure that production requirement are met.
  • Promote quality of deliverables by motivating, coaching and developing team members.
  • Ensure cross training and rotation of duties occurs on a regular basis to increase operational efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Periodic review of process to refresh understanding of requirements and review for compliance.
  • Ensure all processes are documented in the manual and are maintained on an on-going basis.

What will you do?

  • Provide first line support to all local teams for VBA scripts running in MS Access, Excel, Outlook.Responsible to troubleshoot issues as they occur and implement fixes in real time
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing macros to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.
  • Take the lead to implement new automated solutions using VBA, Python, SQL etc.
  • To maintain the inventory of all EUCs (End User Computing) macros and scripts, and work with Operational Risk team to ensure all EUCs are aligned to comp any standards.
  • Perform OTC pricing to integrate various data related to different asset classes used as underlying of OTC Derivatives and Structured Products.
  • Implementation of control to perform qualitative coherence check in order to ensure the proper data are contributed into Kondor+ and the positions of each client portfolio are properly valuate to compute the NAV and/or the Collateral Margin.
  • Perform ETD trade processing to integrate trade files from Clearing Brokers into a tool called Mega_ETL to send listed options transactions to accounting platform.
  • Perform CFD trade processing to integrate trade files from Prime Brokers into a tool called Mega_CFD to send CFD transactions to Kondor+ and accounting platform.
  • Inform the client support officer and client about any transaction in difference.
  • Provide EMIR Position reconciliation between the listed derivatives positions recognized by the client and the positions reported to DTCC by their Clearing Brokers.
  • Maintain efficient communication channels with managers, coordinators and team members.
  • Timely resolution/escalation of inter-departmental and cross functional queries. • Ensure collaborative relationship across jurisdictional, functional and cultural boundaries when required for the daily operations.
  • Works closely with manager of department to achieve department and organization goals.

Job Requirement

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Post-secondary education with an accounting/finance concentration or equivalent experience.
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in relevant Derivatives Operations/Asset Servicing.
  • Experienced in writing and maintaining VBA scripts for MS Access, Excel, Outlook.
  • English Language (Written/Oral) Proficiency.
  • PC literate in MSOffice applications.
  • Experience and high level of competency in VBA for Excel, Access, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of other coding languages (eg. Python, SQL) will be an added advantage. Knowledge in Derivatives products and market processes will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in data vendors i.e. Bloomberg, Reuters will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in English language (written / oral) and interpersonal skills.
