The third networking event to cap off a wonderful year by #teamGRADUAN!

We had a blast at the 3rd Aspire+ Networking Series held last Tuesday at WeWork Equatorial Plaza! Representatives from over 15 organisations were present on the night to meet 150 of Malaysia’s brightest working professionals and they were not disappointed.

“We are honoured to be invited to the Aspire+ Series since the launch earlier this year, and each time our team have benefited so much from the insights shared and the connections made! The new interactive session conducted by Compas helped participants think through questions to ask the speakers before the forum. The panel comprised of a strong line-up of experienced bankers to share their personal experience and advice in managing personal finances and investment for young professionals. We look forward to the next Aspire+ Series!” -Serene Ho, Young Corporate Malaysians.

The night’s agenda was kicked off with meaningful networking among employers and talents before Compas, an exciting organisation that aims at revolutionising training and learning experiences in working professionals began their participative dialogue session, led by professional facilitators.

Participants were divided into smaller groups with a facilitator leading each group. They were later presented with ideas and queries on financial literacy and at the end of it all, provided feedback on where they see their financial future.

There really isn’t a better feeling than being financially secure.

The main agenda of the night, ‘Are You Financially Savvy?’ featuring Michelle Ng, Head of Sales Competency at CIMB, Teh Shell Pin, Chief Operating Officer of Retail Banking and Wealth Management at HSBC, Reuben Tan, Head of Wealth Management at OCBC Bank, Woon Siew Hoong, Executive Director, Commercial-Enterprise Banking at UOB, Ahmad Shareza Abdul Rahman, Head of Mass Banking, Community Financial Services at Maybank and moderated by Wong Wai Ken, Country Manager of Stashaway.

The experts shared their insight on being financially sound and provided tips based on personal experience. The panellists discussed everything from the ever-changing property market to starting side businesses which is much easier to do now than it was a decade ago.

“I’ve been to two of the three GRADUAN Aspire+ Series and on both occasions the speakers were amazing, delivering the information directly and wasted no time doing so. The topics are very relatable and the take home points made sense” -Ryan Ritchie, Participant.

The forum also discussed the importance of not just investing in materials but also investing in the intangibles. Panellists unanimously agreed that health is often overlooked but is absolutely critical. Apart from health, one’s skills are also worth investing in as this will ultimately help secure your finances,

The panellists were met with a loud roar of applause before networking resumed.

All in all, the third Aspire+ Networking Series of 2019 proved to be a huge success and #teamGRADUAN looks forward to hosting another mutually fruitful event for the masses!
