Job Scope

The Intercompany Accountant position entails monitoring inter-company processes, coding invoices and assisting with corporate balance sheet reconciliations. The position has direct interaction with various levels of upper and middle management including exposure to international management, the finance team at the local location, Supply Chain, Customer Service team, Source to Pay team, and Genpact team to ensure that the accounting service is delivered on time with quality.

This role is primarily responsible for completing timely reconciliations of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable balances in a consistent and accurate manner with other intercompany around the world. In addition, the position will also be involved in the settlement of Huntsman's monthly Inter-company balances.

In this role, the Intercompany Accountant will be utilizing his/her technical accounting expertise to provide the following support:

•Create and process intercompany non-trade invoices. •Process intercompany non-automated trade invoices. •Research and follow up on aged intercompany items. •Research on failed automation items. •Balance intercompany with counterparties. •Initiate payment and netting. •Post entries for securitization program. •Post entries for intercompany debt and interest. •Balance intercompany debt and interest with counterparties. •Reconcile intercompany debt to CMS. •Reconcile and analyse securitization and intercompany accounts. •Participate in User Acceptance Tests (UATs). •Comply with SOX and IA controls in all intercompany transactions.

Requirements

•Must be willing to work shift during month end close •Diploma in Accounting or Finance or equivalent with 3 to 5 years of generic experience OR •Degree with 1 year of Accounting experience •Prior work experience in a shared service and accounting environment •Ability to follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained •Ability to exercise judgment and apply job skills, company policies and procedures in resolving repetitive problems and work on tasks that are moderately complex in nature under close supervision •Proficient in MS Office, MS Excel is a must •Ability to prioritize and work under tight timelines •Good written and communication skills in English. Comfortable in working in a diverse culture •Able to excel in a Fast-paced environment •Customer-service and Tasks oriented - Committed to respond efficiently to the customers' needs and delivering quality work at all times •Experience in accounting systems such as SAP would be a plus
