A multi-disciplinary university with a distinguished 89-year history, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is globally recognised for our excellent educational and academic disciplines and programmes that have contributed immensely to knowledge and skilled human capital development since 1931. UPM becomes the centre of higher education in the region in providing various fields of studies, especially in agriculture and food-related disciplines, engineering, biotechnology, business and communications, which facilitates national development in the new millennium. UPM is now ranked 33rd in the QS Asia University Ranking 2020, and world’s number 132nd in the QS World University 2021. UPM is also ranked 10th in the world as the World’s Best Young University for 2021 and the first-ever Malaysian university to penetrate the Top Ten. The Faculty of Agriculture is one of three founding faculties of Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (now Universiti Putra Malaysia) in 1971.
