Podcasts have become super popular these days (thanks to long commutes to work!) and with so many different topics to pick from, you’ll no doubt find a few favourites to tune into. The best part about podcasts? They are absolutely free to download (from iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts and other podcast apps) and you actually learn quite a lot from them!

The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE)
Joe Rogan, a comedian who is especially known for being the former host of Fear Factor and current UFC commentator, has been running his website since 2009 and today, JRE has become one of the most popular podcasts. Rogan is usually accompanied by guests from different backgrounds like former boxer Mike Tyson, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk. Each show runs for about 90 minutes and usually covers a wide range of topics.

The title of the podcast is self-explanatory. Hosted by Chuck Bryant and Josh Clark, the show covers a wide array of topics that will teach you things you never thought you needed to know like the legend of Betsy Rose or how schizophrenia works. Who wouldn’t want to learn about some of the most puzzling things in the world in 60 minutes or less!

BFM Podcast
The BFM (Business Station) podcast is catered to those interested in contemporary issues mostly happening in Malaysia and beyond. Among topics highlighted in this podcast are speaking to rural voters, axing the ECRL and can Apple still grow. A good recommendation if you need to keep in touch with what’s happening right now around Malaysia and the world.

Serial
This multi award-winning podcast has been described as an audio game changer and is often credited to catapulting podcasts to its popularity today. Hosted by Sarah Koenig, Serial tells true crime stories over the course of a season that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Check out season 1 about a murder in a small town that will have you wondering who did it. Right now, the podcast is in its third season where Koenig spends her time in courtrooms in Cleveland, documenting the flaws and what-nots of the American criminal justice system.

The TED Interview
TED is a nonprofit organisation with the goal of spreading ideas usually in the form of short powerful speeches that we know today as TED talks. TED, which stands for Technology, Education and Design, covers a wide range of topics. In this special TED Interview podcast, Head of TED, Chris Anderson speaks to some of the most interesting people in the world about their fields of specialisation. Among the topics covered include Islam in the world today, the education revolution and so much more to pick from. There won’t be a boring moment with this podcast on.
