What’s In Your Work Bag?

By Aminah Madihah

Everything you need - from getting organised to getting successful!

Whether you carry a handbag, a laptop bag or a backpack, it’s what’s inside that really matters. Aside from it making your work day as smooth as it can be, it can also help up your productivity level. Here are some tips on what to pack.

Checklist for Productivity ✅
Get efficient from Monday to Friday with these essential items.

1. Pen and notebook
Oooh, got a good idea for your next content? Jot it down! Always have something to write these inspirations down because you never know when they might hit.
2. Planner
So many tasks, so many deadlines - how do you stay on top of them! Easy - a planner to organise, plan and prioritise.
3. Headphones or earbuds
Need to concentrate but can’t block out the noise around you? Noise-cancelling headphones or earbuds will do just the trick. They also come in handy for catching up on that podcast on your commute.
4. Business cards
Never forget to carry your business cards with you in case of networking opportunities. You never know who you’ll bump into!
5. Portable charger
For a lot of us, this is like a lifeline to ensure you never run out of battery so you can communicate with your teammates or clients (or kill time when you’re on your break).

Checklist for Personal Care
To do your best at work, you also have to feel your best! Pack in these items to help you feel more comfortable and confident throughout the day.

1. Hand sanitizer
Ugh - if only you could see how many germs and bacterias are out there, especially in shared work environments. You’ll get why you should always have a bottle of hand sanitizer with you. It's also useful when you don't have access to soap and water for handwashing.
2. Water bottle and snacks
If you need a quick boost to avoid dozing off at work, have a snack or candy. Also, don’t forget your water bottle so you can stay hydrated as this helps to maintain focus. Another tip is to pack mints to keep your breath fresh while you speak to colleagues or clients.
3. Tissues
In case you’re prone to runny noses and allergies, tissues are important to keep in your bag. Wet wipes can also be used to wipe down surfaces or clean up spills when you need it.
4. Pain relievers
You’re bound to get headaches or other minor pain when you’re working and staring at the screen all day - but who has time for headaches when you’re chasing deadlines? Pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen are a quick solution so you can continue finishing your tasks.
5. Tampons and pads
In case of emergencies - for the ladies, don’t forget your tampons or pads! You never know when you might need them.
