Tune in to these vibes this month!

By Hannah Dania

Need a pick-me-up while working on that proposal? It’s time to set the right mood with the right tunes.

We’re so close to the second half of the year! Most projects that started earlier this year are now in motion, and the ones that have not progressed should probably start their engines. Question is, have you been setting the tone right for yourselves? If May is going to be your busy month, you’ll definitely need some company - why not make it a playlist of cool tunes to get you through the month? Here’s what we think needs to go on that playlist, right now.

PARTYNEXTDOOR, For Certain
First up, we got none other than the man who just released his new album, P4, Partynextdoor. If you’re new to the artiste, this song is a great introduction. It’s a mixture of cool and wavy rhythms that will make you remember why you like music in the background while at work. Definitely a great tune on a mid-week workday.

Madison Beer, Make You Mine
For all the studying and working girly-pops out there, this one's for you. Madison Beer released this song in February 2024 and it’s perfect for a speedy May. A lot of synths are involved in the rhythm, with a solid mixture of pop and a hint of EDM. If you’re a fan of the movie Jennifer’s Body, give this song’s music video a try.

Yussef Dayes, Marco Bernardis & Rocco Palladino, Venna, Sicily' Box
My personal favourite for the past few weeks! For fans of jazz and instruments such as the piano, drums and saxophone playing in the background, this will soon be your fave as well! Yussef Dayes never disappoints, and this is by far his most captivating tune. Want to start your day right? Sicily’ Box. Want to play a tune on a rainy workday? Sicily’ Box. Just got home from work and want to unwind? Sicily’ Box!

Future, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, We Still Don't Trust You
Ever thought of a song that makes you feel like you’re the main character in a movie, walking through a tunnel while bopping your head and right before the plot twist happens? We Still Don’t Trust You is that song! With Daft Punk vibes, it’s a great tune to play while going through a pile of work. It’s exactly the song you need to make you forget about the long hours ahead.

Tyla, ART
A slow amapiano song will make you bump your shoulders and day away! Tyla comes back with another banger; her first song, Water, is still on repeat today. ART is the laidback and cool version, the perfect song to end the last hour at work with. It’ll set your mood just right - even if you’re about to go through rush-hour traffic.
