A bank with over 200 years of experience in creating positive financial and social impact, Citi’s corporate values act as pillars for employees with their everyday dealing with clients and communities. We speak to Nisha Padbidri, Country Human Resources Officer at Citibank Malaysia, to find out more what those values are.
In an exclusive interview GRADUAN conducted with Nisha Padbiri, Country Human Resources Officer at Citibank Malaysia, we were given insight into the values that have governed the organisation and led them to the incredible heights they have reached today.
Here are the Citi Values.
What are some values your workforce is known for?
Each of us at Citi is responsible for contributing to our mission to enable growth and economic progress. On a daily basis, we ensure that our decisions pass three tests:
Citi is undergoing a transformation to position the firm to win in a changing world. A strong and resilient culture that prioritises excellence and accountability is critical to ensuring the success of this transformation.
How would you describe your organisation’s working culture?
At Citi, you will work alongside some of the smartest minds in the industry who are excited to share their knowledge and to learn from you. From analysts to executives, our people operate as one team where each voice is heard, and each perspective is appreciated.
You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues from unique backgrounds and experiences on projects and solutions that are equally diverse. We believe that diversity makes us stronger, and we actively work to ensure that our team is inclusive and representative of the amazing people we serve.
Our reach is global, and our impact is deep. As a global company, our employees represent the places where we operate and the clients we serve. Citi’s diverse, inclusive culture will ensure that you feel welcome, respected and supported to reach your full career potential.
We see, recognise and value the unique backgrounds, identities and experiences our employees bring to work every day. Our commitment to celebrate and champion the diversity of our people makes the growth and progress we drive around the world possible.
Talk to us about your Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda.
Our ESG agenda is embedded in what we do and creates concrete examples of the empathy we see in our firm every day as we work to serve our clients, customers and communities.
In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, we announced our 2025 Sustainable Progress Strategy to play a leading role in driving the transition to a low-carbon economy. At the core of the strategy is our commitment announced earlier this year to finance US$500 billion in environmental solutions and projects by 2030, as part of our US$1 trillion commitment in sustainable finance, as well as reduce the climate risk and impact of our client portfolio and the environmental footprint of our facilities. Building on these efforts, in early 2021, Citi committed to net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, which includes emissions associated with its financing as well as achieving net zero for its operations by 2030.
If you’re looking for a career that can really impact the communities the organisation serves, look no further – come talk to Citibank Malaysia to learn more about its commitments at GRADUAN® Aspire, 9 to 12 July 2021.
