With millions of apps out there, it comes as no surprise that your phone would be filled with home screen after home screen of apps. But how many of them do you really use (except for the usual suspects like Facebook and Instagram)? And now that you’re on career mode, you’ll want to download some apps that will make working life fun and definitely more productive.

Like these seven apps that will come in handy for whatever work situation you have.

Splitwise
You’re out for lunch with your colleague, the bill comes and you say, “It’s OK, I’ll get it this round.” You know what’s not OK though – when you pay for the more expensive bill while your colleague pays for the mamak bill.

Enter Splitwise, the best bill-splitting app out there according to reviews. Splitwise lets you managed these shared bills through an itemised breakdown with your colleague. Say you pay for one lunch bill. Create a group with your colleague in the app and then enter the amount. Then your colleague pays for a different bill. Enter that amount and the app will show the difference between both bills so that you’ll know who’s paid more and if you want things to be fair, how much is owed to the person who’s forked out more money for lunch. That way, everything’s split right in the middle and as time goes, the balance will either tally up or you can settle the differences by month end.

Other things you can use Splitwise for? Shared receipts and utility bills with your housemates, travel expenses if you go for a trip with some buddies, grocery bills for a cooking party – basically anything where there are shared expenses.

Peak
Named the Best App in 2014, Peak is your quintessential brain-training app. There are over 40 puzzles to complete, each one developed by neuroscientists and game experts to become harder as you progress to help you “train” your memory, language skills, focus and mental agility.

You can set a notification for the app to remind you to pick up your phone for a training session. Think of it like your personal trainer, just for your brain!

The GRADUAN® App
If you’re looking for the ideal first job or thinking of switching careers, you'll want to do it with the GRADUAN® App. The app is specially developed to help you land that dream job with functions like job search, notifications for the latest job postings from preferred employees, CV and personal profile upload so that it is easier for recruiters to find you.

Also, get access to all our content via the app – videos and vlogs from GRADUANtv, articles, interviews and so much more. You’ll also get notified of special events, fairs and workshops via the app and gain direct access to potential employers by visiting their profile page on the app itself. Really, the GRADUAN® App is literally your ticket to your dream job right at your fingertips!

LastPass
Tons and tons of passwords to remember? Then you definitely need LastPass. A password manager, LastPass saves all your passwords securely and you’ll only need to remember one password – your LastPass password.

Enter that and the app will autologin to your sites as well as fill up web forms for you with all the information you’ve saved in its secure vault. And if you pay USD$12 for a LastPass Premium, you’ll get access to 1GB of encrypted online storage.

Temp Mail
You know how you want to sign up for that newsletter but hate having to put in your personal email? Enter Temp Mail – the best app for those who love signing up for things online but hate junk mail.

This temporary email service allows you to create an email address that is deactivated 10 minutes after it is created. This way, you can use that temporary email to sign up to a website or for a newsletter that might cause spam (like shopping sites where you absolutely need the voucher code but not the daily newsletter on what’s on sale).

Camscanner
Your client wants that form to be sent in PDF. No problem – just whip out your phone and use the Camscanner app. It lets you turn basically anything into a PDF. All you need to do is take a picture, convert it into PDF and off you go. You can even edit your new PDF file signatures (something that will come in handy for sure!) as well as other effects.

Braintoss
You’re commuting to work on MRT and suddenly a brilliant idea comes to mind. Open your Braintoss app right now and speak into your phone to record that idea! Or you saw something on your morning walk that could absolutely work in the office. Use Braintoss to snap a phone and send it to your inbox. Basically, Braintoss makes sure that you never miss an idea, a thought or something inspirational, transcribing audio and images into text and sending it straight to your email.
