Our biggest Career Fair!

By Ahmed Wafi

More than 70,000 talent logged in over four days at our first GRADUAN ASPIRE virtual career fair.

Nothing can stop GRADUAN from bringing you closer to your dream job, not even a global pandemic! From 24 to 27 October, we hosted our very first virtual GRADUAN ASPIRE career fair, the 10th instalment of our annual career and networking fair, where more than 70,000 talent logged in over the four days checking out what jobs are out there, e-meeting company reps and get this, landing on-the-spot interviews.

There were more than 60 virtual booths “manned” by the organisations that took part in this year’s fair where talent could e-drop their CVs, apply for vacancies, participate in live chats, and even be invited to private chat rooms for video interviews on the spot if their CVs impressed company reps. If those who checked out ASPIRE wanted to know more about the companies, they could watch these special promotional videos created by #teamGRADUAN.

Aside from job opportunities, those who logged on were also treated to exclusive features to help them in their job hunt and boost their chances of moving up the ladder.

Missed out on this year’s ASPIRE? Here are some highlights.

OPENING CEREMONY
Every year, ASPIRE opens with our trademark opening ceremony and this year was no exception, though in a different format. GRADUAN’s Managing Director Puan Elia Talib greeted our talent and company reps in a live session. This was followed by Maybank’s Group Chief Human Capital Officer Datuk Nora Manaf who delivered her keynote address in front of the 8,000 strong virtual audience. Datuk Nora highlighted a number of issues including the adaptation of the new normal and the importance of mental health, especially now. “As you go through today, it’s not all about what skill to master and what course to take but you have to make sure you’re always fit from the four faculties (mental, emotional, physical and performance),” she said.

You can tune into her keynote address here as well as the opening speech.

THE ASPIRE CONFERENCE
Malaysia’s HR Icons from the nation’s most preferred employers like Maybank, PwC, Nestle, Samsung, Axiata, CIMB, Dell Technologies and many more starred in this year’s ASPIRE Conference that took place later in the afternoon on the first day of the virtual fair. Like every other year, this year’s conference covered a variety of topics including ‘The New Normal of Talent Management’, ‘Digital Talent Management’ and ‘Taking Your Brand Online’ – just that the audience was viewing from the comforts of their own home!
