All The Best Horror Movies Coming Out in April & May 2024!

2024 is going to be a total scream feast with many (and we repeat – many!) horror movies hitting the screens. If you're a fan of thrills, jumps, and boos, this is it for you – your movie days will be set for oodles of spine tingles. From original titles to familiar franchises, here are all the 2024 horror movies we can’t wait to watch through our fingers.

The First Omen (April 2024)
Nun-to-be Margaret is sent to Rome to begin her life of service to the church. However, she doesn’t find God as she is supposed to; instead she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith while also uncovering a terrifying conspiracy to deliver evil to the world. If you know the Omen franchise, you can rest assured that this prequel to the classic won’t disappoint with its strange, macabre events that unfold to even more are-you-kidding-me moments. With the words “The Most Terrifying Movie of The Year” splashed in red across its poster, you’re in for a terror ride.

Abigail (April 2024)
Talk about a kidnapping that seriously went wrong! Based on the 1936 film Dracula’s Daughter, the movie revolves around a group of criminals who abduct a young girl named Abigail who is the ballerina daughter of a prominent underworld figure. What the group doesn’t know is that Abigail is also a fanged bloodsucker in a tutu, hell-bent on causing serious injuries and harm on her abductors. Yikes! If vampires are the stuff that make you sit at the edge of your seat, Abigail won’t disappoint.

Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire (April 2024)
Not exactly horror but we do have two “monsters” starring in this sequel to the 2021 version! This time round though, the two are no longer at odds with each other but are up against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world that challenges their existence and our own! Get ready to go through a historical journey of the Titans, the mysteries of Skull Island, and a mythic battle that will tie humankind forever – or not.

Sting (May 2024)
Creepy spiders and more! Look away if you are afraid of spiders. But if not, this one will make you think twice about hitting that spider on your table! 12-year-old Charlotte finds a spider and decides to raise it as a pet against her parents’ wishes. When her spider thrives under the care and becomes a flesh-eating monster, she starts having second thoughts and thinks that perhaps her web of deception could spell the very end of those close and dear to her – did we also mention said spider’s diet consists of human flesh?

Cuckoo (May 2024)
We definitely need a horror movie with weird families and weird things happening! 17-year-old Gretchen is forced to move with her family to a German mountain resort where surprise, surprise, nothing is as they seem. Creepy things start taking place and Gretchen starts questioning her reality and those are claimed to love her. Family secrets truly are made of horrifying stuff in this movie!

Tarot (May 2024)
Ah, the classic story of a group of friends who recklessly violate the sacred rule of Tarot readings to unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards. If you loved last year’s Talk to Me, you’ll also enjoy this year’s version from the summon-the-devil-gone-wrong genre. After a Tarot session gone wrong, each of the friends encounters a different card and is subjected to the horrors foretold in the mysterious deck. Who survives and who won’t? More importantly, who will shuffle next?
