All That Happened At The Malaysian Virtual Career Fair 2022!

By Dania Aziz

It’s our 18th year running the Malaysian Career Fair UK and here’s everything that went down at the nation's most anticipated overseas career fair.

The Premier Career Platform for Malaysians in the United Kingdom and Ireland, GRADUAN®'s Malaysian Career Fair 2022 which took place from 25 to 27 March was once again held virtually due to the global pandemic. With over 30,000 page views, this fair was hosted under GRADUAN®'s own virtual platform at themalaysiancareerfair.co.uk. Since 2020, GRADUAN® has been hosting its career initiatives on an online platform, and we have improved its interactive features this year to allow participants to have an immersive experience throughout the fair.

Connect for Career

This remarkable three-day event connected a large pool of talent with 24 of Malaysia's leading organisations. Even with the pandemic, we managed to attract over 2,600 high-performing Malaysian talent ranging from graduates, postgraduates, and working professionals who were looking to explore the Malaysian job market and grab this golden opportunity to meet, network, and pick the brains of industry leaders, organisational representatives, and subject experts.

We kicked off the fair with our virtual Corporate Luncheon, a segment for the best and brightest of Malaysian talent in the UK to engage and exchange ideas with hiring managers and CEOs from Corporate Malaysia. The selected 100 talent were invited to participate in exclusive forums and presentations by panellists, as well as pitch their ideas to leading Malaysian companies like Maybank, Berjaya, KPMG, and UOB.

The fair’s opening ceremony took place on Saturday, 26 March 2022 at 3:30pm MYT, with a welcoming address delivered by Nabil Marie, Chief Executive Officer of GRADUAN® and Nicole Siaw, Chairperson of UKECareer 2021/2022, followed by the keynote address from H.E Ambassador Zakri Jaafar, High Commissioner of Malaysia in the United Kingdom to officiate the event.

One Platform, Numerous Interactive Features

Participating talent were able to get in touch with employers at the virtual booth, submit resume, apply for the latest job applications, get invited for virtual interviews and join meeting rooms with their preferred employers all at a single click on a button.

Apart from these features, talent were also able to participate in our live webinars with insider insights from industry experts. A total of 9 webinars by 13 participating organisations were live streamed throughout the career fair with more than 3,400 total views.

The Malaysian Career Fair 2022 ended with a bang with numerous positive feedback from participating organisations as well as talent. The event went off without a hitch, thanks to the help of UKEC. As always, GRADUAN® hopes to make this annual event even better in the future and continue to provide Malaysian talent with nothing but the best career resource.

Stay tuned to our next event, GRADUAN® Aspire, the biggest career fair in Malaysia happening this 30 July to 3 August!
