Are You Ready for the Maybank Digital Race 2020?

Malaysia’s No.1 favourite employer as voted by students and graduates continues to bring excitement to the digital world.

If there is one thing 2020 has taught us, it is that digital is the way forward and online is the place to be. Virtual events as well as hybrid ones are here to stay and Maybank is set to make this even more exciting with its first-ever Maybank Digital Race that you can be a part of in the comfort of your own home (plus, some surprise locations!).

So what is the race all about? Close to 300 university students and fresh graduates who signed up for the race competed in a series of digital challenges for a chance to meet the representatives of Malaysia’s top employer along with some awesome prizes.

Here’s how the race works: From the flag-off on 29 of July 2020 leading up to the semi-finals on 7 of August 2020, participants will be involved in mind-stimulating puzzles, riddles and interactive checkpoints before arriving at the biggest checkpoint of all: The Nora Manaf Show. Only the top-3 finalists will make it to this final checkpoint.

The Zoom Checkpoint - Digital Challenge
This was one Zoom call no one wanted to miss. During the Zoom Digital Challenge, teams were required to compete against other teams through a series of activities and digital challenges designed to test their smarts across multiple areas. Successful teams then made their way to the next part of the race.

Community Roadblock
To help local vendors and hawkers go through recent tough times, Maybank introduced its Sama-Sama Lokal initiative where business owners promoted and sold their goods via Maybank2U. In this checkpoint, the competitors of the Digital Race had their chance to support this initiative too by contributing to the community of local business owners as well as learn more about the many great products and services created locally.

The Grand Finale: The Nora Manaf Show
If you’re among the lucky three to make it to the end, you’re in for a treat at the Grand Finale live session! Happening 11 August, the session will be hosted by Maybank’s very own Group Chief Human Capital Officer, Datuk Nora A Manaf. The session will be in two segments: A learning and sharing session with the young talents of the Bank who will be speaking on their individual experiences while working in Malaysia’s largest financial services group and the opportunities they’ve been given. Do take this opportunity to ask them many questions. Then, it’s off to something more exciting – The Digital Race Grand Finale! This segment will see the top-3 finalists competing in another round of challenges to see who will emerge as the Maybank Digital Race 2020 champion!
